The first thing I experienced was that my house was haunted. I was only 10 at the time and I lived in Trainer, PA and it was around 2:30 AM and I fell asleep downstairs. I was down there all-alone, and my parents were upstairs and my sister stayed with her friend. The phone rang and I went to answer it and no one spoke, so I went back to lay down and the phone rang again and I went to answer it and no one answered again. This time I felt weird so I looked in my kitchen and there was a little girl sitting in the corner with really short hair and a green sweat suit on, crying in the corner and she disappeared. Many other things happened in my old house but let’s move on. When I lived at my grandparent’s house, my cousin, my aunt and myself were sleeping in her bed, and I had to sleep on the end which I never liked, and I don’t know why, but I did. Anyway, I woke up in the middle of the night, and I saw my grandfather standing at the door, but my grandfather was dead and I got scared so I put the covers over my head and 2 hours later I forgot about it and I woke up, took the covers off my head, and he was sitting at the end of the bed but he was not facing me. I got scared but that’s the end, besides the people I hear talking and the noises I hear.
Now Let ME tell you a story about me that my parents told me and it is true!! When I was a little kid only about 2 yrs old we lived in a house with my Granny in Alabama. Her boyfriend did not want us living with them so they kicked us out! My mom's friend let us stay in her house until we got a house to live in. Your talking a big *** house. Her son had died a few months ago so she moved out! We kept wondering why she left, but had left her son's stuff behind! Maybe we had a mystery on our hands. A few days after we had been staying there, cabinets that were very high up, so much that my dad had to stand on a ladder to reach them, would be open when we woke up in the morning! It was very mysterious! One day I started screaming and my parents said that when they asked me what was wrong I said, "Ugly Man" and I pointed to a box. Then another day my dad was taking a shower and he felt that he was not alone. Then he heard me start screaming and when he got out of the shower he saw a bottle of shampoo had been removed from a spring cabinet against a wall! I told him Ugly Man when through the wall to him. He totally freaked out. Also one night my mom was sitting on the other side of the room from me and my dad was eating by the bar, I started screaming again and my dad froze in place! "Something touched me on the shoulder!" he said in shock and I told them I saw it and what he looked like. My parents told the friend and she was so shocked that she told them the rest of the story. This is what she told us, her son was in the military and he had come home. He went to go get his sister from her boyfriend's house. He was a drug dealer and so was she. When he tried to take her home she didn't want to go, she wanted the drugs instead, so she hollered to her boyfriend that her brother was hurting her. So her boyfriend came in and shot her brother!!! He crawled to the neighbor's house which was an old lady. He was using her phone, but my moms friend did not answer so he left her a message and died in the middle of his sentence!
St Francis Inn, St Augustine FL
It all took place in the historic St. Francis Inn, in St. Augustine. My husband and I were married there last September, but we stayed in the Casa de Solana (which was peaceful and romantic). I had the idea that we should go back for our 6 month anniversary and stay at the St. Francis. I have to confess, the main reason I wanted to stay there was the off chance that I would have some sort of paranormal encounter. The place is charming, no doubt, and I was comfortable in our room. I don't know if any of you have heard the legend of Lily, the servant. The story varies and who knows how accurate any of it is but I'm here to tell you there is definitely something there. We stayed on the third floor which is central to most of the activity. The afternoon we arrived I had an interesting encounter with another guest. She and her husband were heading down the stairs at the same time I was. She asked me if I had slept well the night before. I told her that we had only just arrived. She replied that she would ask me the same question the next morning and said no more. (Unfortunately, she was gone by the time we made our way down to breakfast the next day.) We went to bed that first night relaxed and comfortable. Inexplicably, I woke up at 3 a.m. wide awake, as though it were morning. I couldn't get sleepy again, and became uneasy. Let me just say, I don't creep out easily. I pulled the blanket over my head, only to have it quickly snatched off several seconds later. I immediately suspected my husband, however when I looked over he was sleeping with his back to me. Finally, I managed to drift off but right as I fell out, I had the sensation of being grabbed by the shoulders and dragged roughly toward the foot of the bed. During this time I couldn't move or speak of my own accord. Again, a few minutes later I began to drift off, and once more was assaulted. This time I felt as though I was being held down with a tremendous amount of force, unable to speak or move. This was no fun, folks. I won't go back. As a side note, my husband teased me all the next day, so I felt it was only justice served when he was woken the next night by a hand on his shoulder. He rolled over only to find me asleep, with my back to him. HA!
Here's what happened to me a few months ago, when I was living in the house my family owns (and has for 60+ years), I started feeling the presence of a woman. Her presence grew until one evening, when I could feel her pain and she was giving me visions. The visions where of her and her son and their death. She was looking for him in the afterlife, but she was also being chased by something evil. Oh by the way they were murdered. I have also seen her son. Both are from the 20's maybe. I guess at this point I should give you some background info, a lot of family members have seen ghost in the house. We have seen some relatives like my grandfather, an uncle and a great great grandmother and of course others we don't know. The other thing is you can sense evil in the basement. This is the only place I have seen ghosts and that was the only time I talked to one.
Signs from Grandpa
My grandfather had moved in with my family because he had Alzheimer's disease and couldn't take care of himself he had moved into my room and I had to give up a lot for him. Well about 2 years had passed and he had fallen in my old room and later on at the hospital he had died around 11 on Christmas morning. Well my mother believes in signs and asked to send her a sign he used always be smoking his pipe and she had asked to send the smell of his pipe. About a week later she walked through the kitchen and smelled his pipe when she walked out of the kitchen she couldn't smell it anymore. Every once and a while I can smell pipe smoke around my house. Then about a month later when I had walked in my room my ceramic doll he had given me for Christmas the year before had fallen off my dresser when I picked it up I had a cold chill down my spine. The last time I had experienced anything like this with my grandfather was when I was mopping the floor. All he did was watch TV in the same room in the same chair every day all day. Well I was mopping the floor in the room and all of a sudden the TV just turned on to the history channel which is the channel he had always watched. Oh, also for a long time after he had passed away I always felt something watching me and following me around and when I looked into the room he was always in I kept thinking the was there and I could feel his spirit but I'm not sure if that was just because he was always there.
Growing up In Haunted So Florida
I came across your website and thought I would share my story with you. It's really long and details everything that has happened to me from the time I was a kid to this past week. I know you deal with Miami, but I am not too far up the road in Coconut Creek. For me it's not that my dwelling is haunted, there is some entity or entities that are attached to me and follow me everywhere I have been. I grew up in Cooper City and I came from a happy home. The house was built just for us when our family moved up from Kendall when I was three years old. Through my childhood I would have these dreams that would end abruptly. They weren't nightmares, but they weren’t good. I would be in the dream doing something normal, always around my house, and then a basketball would roll across the street or something like that. In my dream I would go to get it, but I would get stuck in the middle of the road, and just as a car was speeding to hit me, I would wake up really quick. It wasn’t always a basketball across the street. One time it was me in the field beyond my back yard and I couldn’t get out of the way of a crashing plane. One time my father turned into a vampire and I couldn’t move to get away. But this happened so often, that after a while I consciously knew what dream I was in and what I was about to expect in a couple minutes. But as I grew up, the dreams went away. They pretty much stopped by the time of my freshman year of high school in 1991 when we moved to Plantation. One time, I believe it was a Saturday morning, I was sleeping in. I was about 11 or 12 years old living in the same house in Cooper City. I was actually dreaming what I was doing at the time … sleeping! Everything was identical. I was laying on my right side with the wall to my back looking at my closet across my room. Then, as I was rolling over to my left side (in the dream AND real life), I saw a nice-looking "ghost" come out of my closet. This was obviously the dream part. And as I continued to turn over, the ghost became hideous. It was like the ghosts from the movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark" when the Nazis opened the ark on the island. The ghosts started out nice, but turned nasty and killed everyone. The ghost from my dream was the same way. Just as I had completely rolled over, I remember the nasty ghost in my dream dart out really fast from my closet toward my bed. I felt something hit my back and I hit the wall in real life. I woke up and knew I had just been hit by a ghost. And except for my dreams, that was the last paranormal instance – besides my dreams – until a few years ago. I was a graduate assistant at a large private college in Texas for the 1999-2000 school years. I lived there on my own and every now and then I would feel my bed vibrate, waking me up in the middle of the night. It was a low-level vibration. The kind you would get from a vibrating bed in a cheap motel, but not as much shaking. It was constant and would last about a minute. I never thought it was anything out of the ordinary because I lived in a really crappy apartment complex. I just thought something was happening around the building or it was the mass amount of old air conditioners in the building all going at once. I moved to Indiana and did an internship for the next school year. This time I lived with someone in a much nicer apartment. It was new and put together very well. And every now and then, I would wake up in the middle of the night with my bed vibrating. It didn’t bother me much and I didn’t connect Texas to Indiana yet. I moved back with my parents in Plantation in August of 2001 after my internship. I slept on a futon in what was my old room. And every now and then, the futon would vibrate. But now I started to see shadows move in the dark. This freaked me out. I just attributed it to an overactive imagination. But then I would see shadows move more and more as time went on. Then I moved in with my best friend in May of 2002 just 10 minutes away from my parents in Davie. Now my bed was vibrating constantly, shadows were moving every night, and now flashes of light were becoming evident in my room. I knew by this point that it was something paranormal. And it wasn’t just where I lived, it was ME. I even went to visit my sister in college five hours away and my hotel bed vibrated one of the two nights I was there. I once tried to speak with whatever was bothering me, and I was scared out of my mind when I heard a faint voice try to talk back with me. It was just inaudible whispers. I don’t think I fell back asleep that night and I never tried to get a response again. I went to a psychic on Valentine’s Day in 2003 and tried to see what was going on. She told me there were several evil spirits around me. They are all my past lives, and all of their lives were cut short and were unable to resolve things while they were living. I didn’t believe too much what she said about my past lives coming back to "finish unresolved things." Although she did point out that “I had dreams as a kid that never ended.” But the night before I saw the psychic, whatever I was experiencing had a field day with me. It was my worst experience ever. The bed shaking happened all night. I was laying on my back and felt something rumble from on the bed, starting at my feet and working it’s way up towards my rear end, and eventually grabbing my midsection sharply and letting go. It also felt like someone was crawling on my bed next to me. Shadows moved and I heard sounds. Then I went and spent the night in bed with my best friend/roommate. Even though no one else was ever witness to my experiences, whatever it was started pushing down on my neck and shoulders and was at me all night in her bed. My roommate said she didn’t hear or feel a thing. It was like they knew what was going on and that I was going to see the psychic. I feel whatever I it is knows my thoughts and actions before they happen. Just after that I got in contact with a paranormal research team based out of central Florida. They agreed to come down to my place with an investigator, a spiritualist and his psychic wife. Besides for what they found out about my roommate, they senses five entities attached to me … a bitter old man and five happy children. They said the man and the children were on two separate planes and knew nothing of each other. The psychic was able to channel the old man and send him to the spiritual other side, but was too exhausted to channel the children. The remaining time in that apartment, which was about three months, I still had some bed vibrating, but the mood in my room was a little better. I moved into a townhouse in Coconut Creek by myself Memorial Day weekend in 2003. After I moved in everything started to quiet down a bit. The bed vibrating became less and less, and I felt OK with it because of what the psychic told me about it being happy children and how I am like a "spiritual father figure" and have the gift of paranormal communication. In the last couple of months, around the beginning of May 2004, the bed vibrating started to come back and I was feeling another presence in my room. It was dark and angry. Instead of vibrating my bed, I was not being woken up by the sound of clapping or snapping, or it felt like my bed was kicked by something. This would usually happen about 30-45 minutes after I first fell asleep and would happen quite often. I have not been sleeping well for years because of this, and now I am even more tired in the morning because of what has happened recently. One time I felt something lift the covers off my bed where my feet were and I sprang up to see a dark shadow right there. One of my pillows was by my leg, and I was kicking at the shadow, the pillow was kicked at the direction of the entity. The pillow was kicked directly in front of me, the shadow ran off and disappeared, and when I looked at the floor, the pillow was three feet from where it was supposed to land going in the same direction where the shadow ran off to. There has been a new occurrence for me now. On June 6, I went to a wedding in Miami and spent the night at a friend’s place on Miami Beach just south of Bal Harbor. I slept on a couch in the living room by myself, the host was by herself in the master bedroom and a couple slept in the second bedroom. We didn’t go to bed until late in the morning, and soon after I fell asleep, I woke up quickly and saw what I thought was the host next to me. Whatever it was disappeared as soon as I woke up. It looked like a young blonde girl wearing dark clothes that was kneeling at the short end of the rectangular coffee table and looking across it with her hands together like she was praying. Then a couple days later I felt the presence of a young girl with straight hair and her younger brother right next to my bed at home. Last night I used a tape recorder to see if I could catch anything audio while I was asleep. While the tape didn’t reveal anything, I was wakened one time. It was an unusual occurrence, but one that had happened before. Instead of my bed vibrating, I was being grabbed and shaken lightly, and I also felt an extreme amount of fear and anxiety while it was happening, more than what I am used to in this situation. I leaned over and saw that the recorder was still on at this point, then looked at my clock and saw that it had been about 30 minutes after I first fell asleep, and went back to bed. So this is what I am living with. Every night I go to bed thinking about what might happen. It isn't on a set schedule, so I never know what to expect or when to expect it. I don't get much sleep because of it. The only explanation I have is something that happened on Valentine's Day in 1996, exactly seven years to the day before that night of my worst experience. I was a freshman in college and was hanging out with some of my single friends in my dorm. A water fight started and I was caught up in it. I ended up slipping on the floor and breaking two bones in my neck. I was fine because nothing happened to my spinal cord. I had the surgery a month later. As part of the procedure, the doctor had to replace the bad joint in my neck with a bone from the "bone bank." For a time, I felt the spirit I inherited was tied to this bone. But that doesn’t explain the dreams as a child and the one time a ghost hit me in my sleep 7 or 8 years prior.
Gray, Tennessee Haunted Apt Complex
Recv 2-4-05 from Michellecarter36@aol.com
This started happening right after the death of my mom and my best friend's husband in 2000, one in July and the other at the end of August that year. Me and my best friend Kim started having strange things happening in our apartment. We would hear our names being called but turn around and no one was there. Then also there were instances where we would come back and our pictures would be sideways or rearranged things that we had on mantles, etc. Then it took a sadistic turn, things would fly out of the cabinets and hit the floor. In one instance, which I observed in Kim's apartment #14, in the floor just above mine, her bird clock fell on its own and broke and another statue did the same the very same night I went up for a visit. Friends and neighbors said that they could hear people talking, laughing and walking in our apartments and we both lived alone. There was no scheduled repair work or any reason anyone should have been in our homes at the time. Then it took another turn and I am being quite honest with you about everything we both saw, a black figure of a man would walk into my kitchen and it also appeared in her apartment, in her child's bedroom. Also, friends including my best friend kept hearing water turn off and on, and doors shutting in my home when no one was in there at the time. This all stopped about spring of 2003 and never occurred again. When something like this happened my cat would always stop dead in his tracks and growl looking up at something I could not see. The lights would completely dim on and off and flicker many times before stopping, and my TV, and hers as well would have static on it. As you know ghosts can make their presence know in several different ways and it seemed that between me and Kim, my best friend's apartment they were having a ball. Finally one night before I moved from my apartment and in with my in-laws in Miami Florida, I was in my bed asleep my cat, Sasha black and white, was laying by my side and she growled. Then something peculiar happened, I felt a cold draft in my room and a skeletal hand put its arms around me, and I of course woke up and screamed but did not see anything unusual. Then also before it went out of my room there was what appeared to be a raging fire on my wall and I could feel the warmth from it and also see it and hear it crackling. No joke! I have also seen what I thought were a pair of green glowing eyes with this entity. So as you can see plainly I have had contact with the spirit world non intentional and that goes for my best friend Kim as well. Oh P.S. this all happened at an apartment complex that me and Kim lived at until last year 2003 and now we both live elsewhere and the good news is the entities did not follow us thank goodness.
FOLLOW UP TO THIS STORY
my friend Kim told me something about the particular complex I lived in and that could explain some of the activity that was going on. Many years before, her now deceased grandmother moved into it and there was a man that lived there, and if I understood Kim correctly, she stated that the way she had heard it from another neighbor no longer at complex, there was a murder/suicide in that apartment.
Rialto CA Ghost Story
I have always been interested in the paranormal and ghosts. Since I never actually experienced anything strange or unusual, I wasn't completely convinced that "ghosts" existed. That was until Saturday, May 13,2006. In Rialto, CA. A friend had asked me to baby-sit her son (we will call him John) on this particular day. When I got there, John was asleep and everything was fine. After John woke up, we had some lunch and then he wanted to play outside. I started cleaning up the house and had turned up the music really loud while I did it. As I was cleaning, the music was suddenly turned down. Knowing I was the only one inside, I thought John had come inside and turned it down. I went to look for John to ask him if he did and found him in the back yard. I asked him if he turned it down. He said that he hadn't. That he had been outside the whole time. I just thought I was trippin'. I had John come in to take a bath. I got him all settled in the tub. When I turned around to walk out, I found that I couldn't move. It felt like something or someone was blocking the way. Now I was really trippin'. I got John out of the tub and told him to follow me to his mom’s room. I looked back to see if he was behind me. He wasn't behind me so I went back to the bathroom. John was just standing there. He looked scared to death. I told him to come on and he said "I can't move". I told him to stop playing around. He said "I'm not" and started crying. I grabbed his arm and he would not move. So I got him dressed right there and told him "Let's go to my house". We were at my house for awhile. We both felt better so we went back to John's house. John went in the kitchen, I was in the hallway. Suddenly, the back bedroom door just flew open. Their dog starts barking like crazy. I saw the dog looking towards the room barking and growling. Then it started backing up like if someone was there. I grabbed John and ran out of the house. I don't know what it was, but it sure scared the crap out of me. I am now convinced that ghosts do exist.
